GENESIS – The story so far…

This post is generally to recap on the GENESIS footage and photos I previously posted on the old blog.

Layout

Well I did it. Some of it…

The layout for blog posts is now complete. Im sure I will have some work to do when I start adding pictures etc but generally its OK.

The only major thing left before I start work on the main website is the toolbar on the right. I will perhaps tackle it tomorrow. After that I hope to have the forest map from Relentless so I can start putting things together for the main website.

Old Posts

Previously the plan was to get the new blog, layout and dev-trackers up and running before restoring the old post data. Up until now it hasn’t really changed.

Given that the database is fresh and everything else is online (appart from the finer parts of the layout), I have decided to leave the old posts in the database backup file.

They are just too difficult to extract and my time is better spent progressing rather than backtracking. Now we have backups of the posts and two copies of Annor, their presence here is not important.

“But what about your walkthroughs of the systems and how they work?”

I will be adding to the main website in the near future, complete guides on how the systems work from a design point of view and experience point of view. This will happen once I get more maps from Relentless, more models from Kale/Snakebane and the websites are more complete.

Some of these guides will be in video format with a slightly modified transcript version.

Felipe Massa and Henry Surtees

As many are aware, the last two weeks have been one of the worst in years for motor racing and those involved.

It all starts with the death of Henry Surtees at Brands Hatch. One minute you are sat in your cockpit racing your heart out and before you know it your life is over and everyone is picking up the pieces.

This is something rare for the sport these days. Drivers can crash head on into anything and still get up and walk back to the pits. What we have here is a case of extreme bad luck.  Surtees, takes a tire to the head, I doubt he even saw it coming. I am sorry for his father, John. I can’t imagine what hes going through right now.

That aside, my thoughts dwell on Felipe Massa. I am most certainly not a Ferrari fan but in this situation that doesn’t matter. Massa is part of the Formula 1 family, regardless for which team he drives for. Ironically I support McLaren and Brawn. But this guy is one of those special drivers. Hes friends with everyone in F1. Nobody has a bad word to say about him. Every race hes been pushing on for points in hope of one day winning the championship.

That is what I respect about him. A driver that can win, can be competitive, but remain a good friend to all of his rivals. Honour is a rare thing these days.

After the accident on Saturday he has been improving. All the tests are positive but there is one grey area. Will he be able to see properly? Will he be able to race again? Im despirate for some good news, it can’t be over already!

Come on Massa.

Building Blocks

As you can quite literally see, work is progressing on the website layouts for the main website and the developers blog.

I have had very little time to do actual image work, hence no Annor logo on the picture above! I hope to get a little bit more done this evening.

The server transfer has not only been a success but has allowed for some vast improvements across the board. Perhaps if it all goes well I will post again this evening. I have to take my car for MOT.

We have a pulse….

For those that don’t know, we have moved our data and sites to a new server. Things are still re-organising themselves in the virtual world but hopefully all of our IP changes will register soon.

If you landed her by visiting the old domain, then things are working properly.

Welcome to the new domain and the new home for Annor, www.annor-online.co.uk.

The devblog is on this subdomain. And when the main site is complete it will be linked off the main domain. The site is coming very soon!

Keep checking up on us.

DevTracker will be on the main site and the old blog posts will eventually be recovered and added as time goes on.
